On Friday, March 11, 2011, Japan was hit by a 8.9 magnitude earthquake, which led to subsequent tsunamis, thousands of lives lost, and threat of nuclear disaster.
Throughout their history, the Japanese people have proven to be uniquely resilient in the face of immeasurable tragedy. Once again they must answer the call. The call to push aside their feelings and emotions to save others from the ashes, the call to reclaim their land where their home no longer stands, and the call to rebuild and start anew.
We need not, however, force them to answer this call alone.
We can help by supporting relief organizations dedicated to reaching out and being our supporting hand to consul the wounded and rebuild the devastated.
Below are a list of ways you can actively help. Send the people of Japan your prayers, well wishes, and financial support.
